When we were looking for sponsorship for the University of York’s Women’s Rugby Union Club, Enterprise seemed like a natural choice. Having completed an internship with Enterprise Rent-A-Car last summer I grew to understand that their values of inclusion and diversity really resonated with our own and I was convinced the company would be a great fit for our team.
Here are three key reasons why Enterprise was the perfect sponsor for us:
Enterprise is a fun and friendly place where teamwork rules
As a club we aim to encourage our members to flourish as individuals and as a team to become the best they can be as a player or student. Enterprise’s culture and values mirror our own: it’s an organisation where fast progression is possible and they take pride in the support they offer their employees to achieve their desired career goals.
Diversity is a central to the Enterprise culture
The University of York Women’s Rugby Team are inclusive and welcome players of any background and ability – in fact, we were nominated for the 2014/15 Contribution to Diversity award. Enterprise has been named in the Times’ Top 50 Employers for Women in the UK for the last 9 years running and therefore we knew that Enterprise would understand how to encourage and support a diverse club such as ours.
Enterprise strengthens our communities, one neighbourhood at a time
By sponsoring the Women’s Rugby Team, Enterprise Rent-A-Car have strengthened our community and enabled us to support and encourage a group of over 60 women to participate and compete in a new sport. Being active in the community Enterprise work within is a key value – the recent Business in the Community Scotland award just goes to show the desire to make a positive difference.
My experience of working as an intern at Enterprise has convinced me of the quality and forward-thinking culture of the company. I’d recommend anyone looking for an exciting and rewarding career to apply for a graduate or internship role today.
