I started my career at Enterprise in 2011 after finishing my degree in law and my master’s in international law. I always knew whilst studying that the legal profession wasn’t for me but that the skills it taught me could be applied to absolutely anything. When I finished my degree I wasn’t too sure what I wanted to do but one thing I knew for sure was I wanted to do something with business.
I quickly discovered I had a natural sales ability which meant that like I was rewarded alongside my fellow colleagues on numerous occasions. It also secured me a transfer to Newcastle Airport (airport locations always take on the best sales employees). I felt my achievement helped my own personal brand and I continued to really love what I was doing. Whilst at the airport I won the North’s sales person of the year award two years running. I also qualified for a European trip to Madrid due to my performance and was promoted to Assistant Manager very quickly.
Progression is as quick as you want it at Enterprise and I was determined to do as well as I could. Sales is one aspect of the business, but what I loved about the company was I got to meet so many different people of different nationalities and from all walks of life, and it intrigued me as I am a big people person. Enterprise prides itself on excellent customer service and that is something I enjoy striving for.
The airport is such a niche part of the business that getting to know it inside out only helped me further progress my career. I went on to open the North East’s first train station branch as branch manager. This was completely new and had not been done before. I got to start something from scratch and what I loved about this was I got to implement my ideas and I had control of my business. Enterprise gave me the tools I needed to get it going. I was consistent with my results and always exceeded sales and service expectations.
After 6 months of success, I moved to Leeds Bradford Airport as branch manager, where I am today. I feel my strengths lie within the airport sector. I hope to excel in this area of the business and look forward to seeing what Enterprise has in store for me in the near future.
