When I heard the news I’d got the job at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Peterborough I was buzzing because firstly, the Graduate scheme at Enterprise is a great gig to get. Furthermore, from what I already knew about the city, this was by far the best place to kick-start my new career. Over the last half a year I have discovered so much – and I feel this is only scratching the surface. Peterborough is a city which boasts one of the largest and most diverse communities in the UK and continues to grow and evolve.

Today the impressive commercial and cosmopolitan city centre offers more choice and opportunity than anyone could want: from a selection of shopping centres containing the big high street names to the market and side streets with the independent stores and restaurants – you can find everything right here! When the day is done, Peterborough takes on a new shape and offers an incredible culture of nightlife and events after hours – something which MUST be experienced!

The city is also steeped in history, epitomised by the striking Norman Cathedral which dominates the skyline and forges links with nearby architecture to reach back in time. The surrounding rural areas – particularly Stamford and Spalding – offer a similar experience of rich history coupled with modern, practical living.  If this isn’t enough, Peterborough has some of the best transport links in the East of England – particularly with the rail service here; our football team have their eyes set on Premiership promotion and the continuous growth of the area is bringing in some serious money.

Being an employee at Enterprise Rent-A-Car is a fantastic experience, one which I think is made even better by working in Peterborough. Our branch is booming with business and will only grow from here, making every day an opportunity to learn and develop in all areas of the business. The huge diversity in Peterborough is one of the city’s great strengths, and for a company like Enterprise who pride themselves in being a company with similar ideals, there’s no greater place to work and succeed!
